Dishonesty
I saw an advert on Gumtree on 26/12/2015 for a Mercedes C280 with 139000 km. The price was R109000. I drove to the dealership and found a sales person, Stephen/Steven on site, and he told me the vehicle was not available for viewing. I told him that I was very interested, and if the car was as advertised, I would put down the money immediately. He told me that the car was immaculate, and that it was a single owner car with no problems at all. I was asked to return on the following Monday 28 December to test drive the car. When I got to the Dealership at 08h00 on the day, I was told that the car had been sent away for cleaning. I spoke to a sales person who told me he personally traded the car in, and that it was immaculate \Old Ladies car". I said I would go and look at the car"

We have had a look into the information and appreciate your opinion on this matter, we are sorry that you feel that you were poorly treated.
I understand you live in Somerset west and were on your way to work when you stopped at our dealership. The Mercedes Benz that you went to have a look at was in the beginning process of our checks and reconditioning, we really prefer to not have a client view the vehicle in a suboptimal condition as it can give a poor impression, as is the case with your experience. The gearbox was not damaged, but in fact a sensor inside the box was being replaced, hence the gearbox removed in the reconditioning process. As with the air-conditioner, there is an evaporator which was not closing the vent correctly, hence the dashboard need to be removed to attend to this item too. As I'm sure you can imagine a vehicle of over 10 years old having travelled almost 140000km's does require some element of reconditioning. Consequently the vehicle has been completely repaired and polished and underwent a valet and is back to a fantastic condition for her age.The vehicle has now subsequently been sold.
