Disappointed with BMW's Misdiagnosis, Quotation Issues, and Lack of Support

The service I received from BMW South Africa and BMW Northcliff Auto has left me feeling incredibly let down. Errors, poor communication, and a lack of accountability have plagued my experience, leaving me financially burdened and frustrated. Misdiagnosis and perceived diagnosis: The dealership said it had resolved the problem that had originally booked my car. But even after several visits, the issue remained. They eventually acknowledged using conjecture instead of conclusive testing, which resulted in needless expenses and delays.

Modifying Quotes and Ignored Labor Costs: My warranty company approved the initial quote of R67,807.16. I later learned that the revised cost was R72,470.44 and that labor costs had been left out of this quotation. I had to make up the difference on my own because of this lack of transparency.

Limited Support from BMW South Africa: When I escalated the issue to BMW South Africa, they helped to some extent but eventually told me that their ability to assist is limited because my car is no longer under a motor plan, even though I pay for a service plan. This response made me feel unsupported and undervalued as a loyal BMW customer. This is not first my car with BMW and specifically the dealer; I buy my cars from them as demos.

I've been under a lot of stress, inconvenience, and financial strain because of this whole situation. Days have passed without a my car, after I had worked in the dealership was handed Toyota Corrolla which it had wires exposed inside, they then later provided a decent courtesy car, and had to cope with BMW Northcliff dealership's poor communication and the disrespect from their front staff. When I requested for a courtesy car or lift to home prior to getting a courtesy car, I was told they are NOT A SHUTLLE SERVICE by their front desk staff, yet they had my car multiple times and it will take them two days to get my car back and still failed to properly diagnose. I'm posting this review in the hopes that BMW will own up to the incompetence of their dealership, enhance their customer service procedures, and make sure that no other customers have to go through this kind of annoyance.
