Car in bad shape due to Negligent service

I have had a very disappointing experience at Reeds Cape Town in the CBD. After having to call about 4 times on the status of my service - the service agent did not call me as he was in a workshop - I eventually got my car without all the services i'd asked for i.e to check if the alignment needs work. Then, after driving my car after the service, I noticed an oil smell and smoke coming out out of the bonnet. Also, a strange sound came from my front tyres. I took it back today, only to find out that whatever it is that they did caused the fuel filter damage, and oil split all over my engine. I am extremely lucky that no harm was caused to me or other drivers from this damage. And I really hope that this oil spillage does not cause further damage to my car. According to my service adviser (Nathan), it should not. <br> This has been not only a disappointing, but highly dangerous experience and I would not recommend this service shop.

Hello Mumina,

Ms Hoosain

I am writing this mail to you as a formal apology for the experience received yesterday due to lack of communication and further for the inexcusable poor workmanship with regards to failure in securing the oil cap properly. Even though this was human error this is not the standard we deliver and can assure you we strive for way better quality. I further would like to thank you for offering us the opportunity to fix where we have gone wrong by dropping your vehicle back with us. We have inspected the car and there is no consequential damage on the vehicle. We have supp**** you with a new oil cap which has been fitted already and the engine has been cleaned properly. We are busy completing our final checks and doing a final quality audit which means your service consultant will be in touch shortly. If needed we can come and drop the car with you.

Again please except our sincerest apology.

Kind regards

REEDS - Workshop Manager
