5 Year warranty on an Opel Astra and you can claim nothing

I have a 2015 Opel Astra with a 5 year warranty plan. The buttons/dials on the radio, aircon and related are all chipping off. One can't tell what each button is for anymore. So I went to Reeds to ask to replace the buttons and they said it is only on warranty for 3 years. I cannot reconcile in my mind the fact that there is a separate warranty for components and an overall warranty on the vehicle. I am very disappointed in Opel SA on a 2015 Opel Astra turbo Sport and the buttons are chipping off on it. I am driving 33 years opel but with this service it was my last Opel. This is my last Opel vehicle and last good service expectation from the company.
