Centurion Select| GWM P-Series PV D-CAB 2.0TD LS 4X2 8AT| Servicing Department
On the 21st of November 2023 we booked out P-Series bakkie in for a scheduled service plan service, 65000 km. From the vehicles service history we as clients have maintained a strict regime keeping the vehicle on time with maintenance that is included in the plan we already paid for. We were planning to travel to the Western Cape for holidays and my husband did a quick check on oil level and fluids. To his utter shock when checking the air cleaner the filter was past it's expiry and very very dirty. On closer inspection we found that the manufacturing date on the filter indicated 6 October 2022. The fact that this date was found on the inplace air filter leads us to believe that the air filter was never replaced during any one of the previous scheduled services. From the vehicles service history we have documented proof that the air filter was replaced, the date and the condition of the current air filter doesn't give us the confidence as clients that our best interest and investment was cared for as we expected and paid for. Taking into account the facts in front of us, we are extremely disappointed and question the standard and completeness of the previous services conducted. Our trust relationship with Centurion Select has been seriously damaged.
There can be no doubt about our loyalty to this bakkie or Brand and we regard ourselves as GWM Brand Ambassadors, by the amount of additional extras we purchased to personalise our vehicle and continued interaction with friends and the general public who ask us about the vehicle.
Once we saw the condition of the air filter we immediately phoned Rico the workshop manager and informed him of the discovery. The initial response from Rico was not expected, he indicated that the filter could have been on back order, he also indicated quote " I can't check every vehicle, everyday we have more than fifty vehicles I will be stuck at work till midnight". After the discussion Rico indicated that the vehicle can be brought in on Monday 11 December 2023, my husband requested that the Dealer Principle or Manager be present when the filter would be inspected to discuss further how this issue came about. Rico obviously didn't report the matter up because Riaan the assistant DP and or Nadine the DP was not present.
On Monday 11 December 2023, Rico inspected the filter and still had the audacity to question how long and how far the bakkie was driven since the last service, when he realised that this was a serious matter he offered to redo the service on the bakkie. My husband asked to speak to Zandre the technician who conducted the service but was told by Rico that he will deal with the matter internally. Rico indicated that he would follow up the matter of the air filter and give feedback but also redo the service to try and restore our confidence in the dealership.
We consider this issue extremely serious, our safety is paramount having a deadline of holidays really placed us in an unnecessary predicament to have the vehicle re-serviced. My husband felt it important to report the matter to head office due to the fact he felt like the matter was been brushed under the carpet. On requesting the email contact details at reception, Riaan the assistant DP overheard and offered to listen and sort the issue out.
Our trust and relationship with this GWM dealership has been severely *****ed as the experience we are having is that very little accountability is being taken and that the situation is being swept under the carpet with insincere apologies by Rico and Riaan.
On the 14th of December 2023 Erica Johnson from Haval head office phoned me and indicated our complaint was received by them and she had requested the dealer principal and the head of aftersales at head office Yusuf Patel to indicate their availability to set up a virtual consultation and that she would make contact with me on Monday the 18th of December 2023 to set up this meeting. To date I have not received any further communication from her.
Nadine Uys the Dealer Principal at Centurion select responded to the compliant sent on the 20th of December 2023 to which I immediately responded and again requested a virtual meeting be scheduled to have a face to face discussion regarding this situation. Again to date no further response has been received. This proves to show the complete disregard this dealership and even head office has for their clients experiences and more so safety.
This is a warning to all considering doing business with this dealership and having their vehicles serviced there. Please think twice and if you have your vehicle serviced there request the parts that was replaced etc. to be provided to you as they can clearly not be trusted.
