Crime hotspot
Good day On the 08th September at about 15h00 I was walking towards exit 4 and waited at king pie and moved a bit when a black male grabbed my phone and ran. I tried to chase him but he entered a white car. I ran after the vehicle and was assisted by police but we couldn't trace the car. I went to the security control room who advised us that this was a norm and no cameras were there. Mind you the security officer stationed at exit 4 didn't have a radio or report my incident to control. I went to the control room of the mall to ask for assistance, but the lady there failed to assist I asked for her name as per PSIRA requirements that an officer must be properly named but she refused and said I should say a female officer assisted me. It's so convenient that Centurion Mall has become a crime hot spot, and no security measures are in place to assist shoppers. Not only is this sad and disheartening but also poses our lives at risk.
