Cosmetology Centurion : Unhappy Permanent Eye-Brows Client

After my previously solid tatood (permanent make-up) brows became paler, and I could not get an appointment with my original technician, I made an appointment in Nov 2017 with Tanya at the Cosmetology, Centurion. Tanya's receptionist handled the appointment. They insisted on full payment to secure my appointment. Their message read "Your appointment will be confirmed as soon as the money clears into our account". I asked that Tanya improve my shape slightly and make it darker. Tanya suggested/decided to do Microblading over the old faded solid eyebrows. She tried to find fault with my previous work (including the technician), after which I informed her that I do not wish to badmouth people.

On 16 January I wrote to Tanya to firstly inform her that the right eyebrow had a very pale area, and I made a follow-up appointment for beginning February 2018. Again full payment was requested before my appointment. The receptionist gave me an amount, which was R200.00 higher than their price list distributed later that same evening, but I paid as asked.

After five days, when I washed my brows, I noticed that the right brow was now narrower than the left brow. I went to show Tanya on the same day. First she tried to convince me that both were in fact the same width. I could however see the difference with my naked eye. Then she told me that it was the old line of my previous tatoo, that was still visible, that I am seeing. It was exactly the width of this old line which was required to widen the narrower brow, to make both the same width.

Tanya advised that she wanted to discuss the matter with her Trainer, and as I was going overseas for two months, I made an appointment for early May 2018 to discuss my options. Ten days before my appointment I received a message reminding me to pay my deposit.to confirm my appointment. When I asked what the deposit was for, the receptionist's reply was "for your correction". As I was still waiting for Tanya to explain my further options, I was extremely surprised that they requested payment ( as I was never told what the next proposed procedure would be). Surely the "correction" as the receptionist referred to it, would be a correction on Tanya's work. I asked to speak to Tanya, or that Tanya please return my call. I was told that Tanya was far too busy to speak to clients. I was at no stage unwilling to pay, but expected proper communication and an agreement on price. I was at no stage allowed to speak to Tanya. The receptionist became nasty and sarcastic and suggested that I go to yet another technician to redo SOLID brows, as this, according to her, was my only further option. And, suddenly they no longer were prepared to do solid brows. I wonder then, what (method) my requested third payment was inteded for? Furthermore she writes that I agreed that my brows were the same width, when Tanya measured it. Never mind that I have worked with a vernier for more than 35 years and have good eyesight! Furthermore, why would I have gone to the trouble of showing her my concern, regarding the difference in width, in the first instance!!!!!

I am extremely disappointed in firstly Tanya's unwillingness to speak to me personally to discuss future options. Surely if my right brow needed a "correction" it was now a correction on Tanya's work. They demanded payment a third time, yet I was never told what technique this correction would entail. Then only after my query, was I told that I now required solid brows again, and suddenly they could not do solid brows anymore. Lastly, I experienced the receptionist as abrasive, suffering from a huge blame avoidance, extremely sarcastic, with poor people s****s.

I will go elsewhere, and hope to find an honest, capable and friendly technician. But unfortunately I can never recommend Tanya's work or her customer relation s****s!!
