Took deposit and never delivered anything

I asked John Gouws for a quote for marble kitchentops. I accept his quote and need to pay 50% what I did. He promise it will be done before Christmas 2018. Every time he had excuses why he couldn’t come. “His daughter was in labour. The factory was still busy and was closed for Christmas, he was in a accident and in hospital, his car broke down, etc”. The deposit was about R20 000.00. He didn’t answer the phone when hou call him. He didn’t answer messages and when he send you a message that he will phone you in a short while, it didn’t happen. Recently all communication stopped.
