Poor quality of workmanship and poor service.

Poor quality of workmanship and poor service. I called Central Locksmiths (Corlett Drive, JHB) on 17 November 2018 and spoke to technicians Stuart & Joe regarding the removal of a vehicle ignition. The technicians were punctual and did as requested but on putting the ignition back, broke the contacts on the electronic board. They in turn asked me for a soldering iron, which was given but then not utilized. They stated that everything was fine. I took this response in good faith and trusted that the job was completed and sorted out.

The next day the vehicle was driven (by the owner) and problems started occurring. (dash lights & steering lights were flashing). I contacted the technician who came out on Sunday and although accommodating, he was unable to resolve/fix the problem and advised me to bring the vehicle into the workshop which I duly did. Once again, I was assisted by accommodation staff, but the problem was still not resolved.

I was then asked by the owner (Brian) when the job had been done and on advising him was told "this was a private job" and that I must take it up with the technicians and this is "not their (Central Locksmiths' problem"). I have subsequently tried to contact both the technicians who will not answer my calls or text.

I am still in total shock and confused as to how this became a "private job" and why I am now held liable and out of pocket for a job which was given to a huge "supposedly professional" company to handle, was not done properly and is now just been brushed off and ignored.

My experience is that once they receive your money, they make a complete turn with respect to customer service and not delivering! Based on our experience we would not recommend a direct call out from the technicians but ensure that your vehicle in booked in with Central Locksmiths @ the workshop & on their system!
