Beware: Central Estates (Midrealty)

Estate agent (Lynette) does not want to return our deposit. She claims that she's taking the deposit in order to cover an amount owed for rates but she has overcharged us by more than R4000.

She sent us a spreadsheet where she recorded the amounts received/owed but the totals are miscalculated and some of the payments we made for rates are not listed in this document.

She has ben avoiding us for 2 weeks and when we finally did manage to contact her telephonically, she claimed that the flat was in a messy state and that she had to pay people to clean the flat from our deposit (please note that we repainted the bathroom, hired cleaners to spring clean when we moved out, and that she did an inspection before we handed the keys over). She was happy with the state of the flat at the time we left but changed her story afterwards by saying that the flat was not satisfactory.
