Unfair treatment and noise charges
I am San Ridge Heights Resident in Midrand, whom has been unfairly treated last month, October 2020.
I was fined R1000 for playing music before 10pm on a Saturday, without a warning or anything (Noise charges).
I tried to reason with management by showing them a video that i took on the day the guards fined me, with a time stamp on it, but they just dismissed that.
My signature was forged on the fine issued and the time stamped was totally incorrect but they couldn't even take my concern to consideration, as they said they forged signature is not a concern.
When I lodged an investigation, I kindly asked management not to debit my account with the noises fine charges because the matter was not yet concluded but irrespective of my request my bank account got debited with extra R1000 for the charges.
I was unfairly treated on the following reasons : - Playing music within the permitted hours. - Forgored signature - Incorrect date stamped - Fine issued without a written warning or any warning for that matter.
Please note that we are strictly enforcing rules in our estates. The estate rules stipulate that making noise is prohibited. In June, a newsletter was delivered to all tenants as a reminder of what the rules entail.
No tenant is allowed to play music in such a manner that it causes a disturbance to a fellow tenant. This rule applies at all times during the day. Complete silence is expected during the times indicated in the estate rules.
A tenant who does not apply to the rules will immediately receive a fine and action will be taken accordingly.
You have been fined on two occasions for disobeying the rules. If a tenant refuses to sign the fine, either security or management will sign on their behalf. If you do not adhere to the rules, immediate action will be taken without warning.
You will be provided with another copy of the rules. Please adhere to the rules and regulations of our estate to avoid further penalties.
We would like all our residents to enjoy a secure and peaceful environment.
