Manhattan Lofts Rental apartments is a **** and unprofessional.

Manhattan lofts has the worst customer care without fail. On the 9th of January 2024 we decided to renew our lease with them. We signed a document and we were not even given a time to read what the document says. We went back two weeks thereafter to say that we would like to retract the lease because we found something else and we do not want to stay there. They said we cannot. Fine. We accepted this and said it’s fine we will continue staying there. On the 20th of February 2024. They sent this lease extension that we signed on the 9th of January 2024. We read the document and it states “Should you choose not to renew this lease agreement, a written notice of cancellation must be sent within 20 business days prior to the expire of the current lease. Mind you, we went on the 18th of January to say that we have found another place and would like to withdraw the lease. To which they responded they will hear. The following week on Monday they came back and said it is not possible because we have already signed. We said no it is fine then. Only two days ago this document comes stating we indeed did have 20 days to cancel. They are now currently refusing to let us go and not give us our deposit back. We are basically forced to stay at a place that we are even unhappy about because of the ill treatment, unprofessionalism and ********* deeds they do. Please do not consider moving here or at least ask for a copy of your documents because they cannot even do that. They will not send you the terms and conditions of your lease.

Good day, Katelynn,

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. Thank you kindly for your message. Kindly note that due to the newly accepted terms, giving notice on the lease would require you to submit a minimum of 20 business days' written notice. Penalty fees as per your signed lease agreement would apply. Our team will be in contact shortly to conclude your query.

Should you need any assistance with any queries, kindly contact our Client Care team at ***.

Kind Regards
KV

The problem I have is that no one provided us with a signed copy of our lease extension renewal. No hardcopy was given or soft copy. Hence, I want to reiterate the unprofessionalism at hand. If I had a hardcopy or even soft copy then I would have done as the paper says but when I went there I was told there is nothing they can do. All they said is that we have already signed but they did not disclose that we can write a letter to cancel. I have proof as well that I went there before 20 days before my previous lease has ended. So, why did they say there is nothing that can be done.
