Disbelieve and disappointment is all i have when i think about little Manhattan central development , i got home last night from work and my flat was locked by the management of little Manhattan, and the night before my electricity and water was also cut by them without any prior notice or contact of any nature!!!! how can a landlord lock someone out of their own home without calling them??, texting them???, emailing them?? or even giving them a letter?? to notify us about delayed payments i gave 4 platforms of communication right now and not even one of them was used by little Manhattan to notify me about this... from my understanding "" the landlord may not disconnect any municipal services and this includes water and lights. The Rental Housing Act is specific about this. Regulation 12 of the unfair practice regulations to the Rental Housing Act provides that a landlord who is obligated by law or terms of the lease agreement to provide electricity to a tenant must provide that service and must not cause the supply thereof to be interrupted or cut off to the dwelling without a court order. In other words, a landlord may not disconnect the power supply to his own property in order to force a tenant to either pay the rental arrears or to vacate the property." Little Manhattan cannot lock you out of your house or switch off your water and electricity without a court order, why are you doing this to people????????? speak to us first before locking me us out of our homes likes we are not human, our whole lives are in the house, when i left for work the only thing i took was my work stuff, i did not think i should take a change of clothes, a clean pair of underwear and my toothbrush because being locked out of my own place was the last thing i was expecting to happen especially without my knowledge and consent if little Manhattan can lock you out of your house without your knowledge and consent that means they can also get in to your house without you knowing whats next?? am i going to come back home from work and find my belongings on the street?? you do not treat tenets like ********* just because they are behind on rent make them sign an acknowledgement of debt if you have to but just dont take the law into your own hands and i will be taking this further with the housing department because what you did is ********, inhuman and ********
