Lionel changes stories to benefit himself & lies when confronted

We have been staying inseattle creek and our lease is coming to an end. Lionel came to our apartment to ask us to extend our lease, we told him we were looking for a new place but would sign if we can end our lease with a one month grace period. He told us yes this would not be an issue, notify us and you can move out a month later. Based on this information we decided to extend our lease.

Now that we have found a new place we went to the office to notify we will be ending our lease agreement, but now Lionel says we have to stay till January and pay a fine of 2 months if we move out earlier. When I specifically asked if I could end the lease at any time. He acknowledged that we asked him this question, two ***orkers we're in the office at that time so they heard this conversation. He continued by saying he has worked here 5 years and doesn't make mistakes.

So he is telling us 2 different things on 2 different occasions both to benefit Lionel alone. There are no problems when asked about the extension so this will make us sign and when we want to end he comes with extra costs & extra terms.

We talked to him again on Friday and now he is denying ever talking to us about the procedure when it comes to termination of the extension. And that we immediately signed the extension when he asked. He then continued by saying it is impossible to remember a conversation from 10 days ago.
