Disappointing Service and being ******

I was looking for a 1-bedroom apartment on and found an Agent via Tik Tok, Central Development. Was dealing with Tshepang from the agent. She forwarded pictures for me to view which I appreciated and mentioned that I needed a place not too far to drive to and from work. She sent through the location and I googled the kilometers. The application forms was sent to me, the following day she called me informing me that there's only one bedroom available and that if I don't secure it, I might lose it. On the 15th April (Monday) she sent through the approval letter and requested I make payment to avoid disappointment. I paid right away before viewing or signing the contract/ lease agreement, the approval letter stated that should you cancel the booking the deposit of R 2500 will be nonrefundable. On Saturday I viewed the place, my main issue was that 1. the road to the estate was not the safest, 2 the road is very busy with community nearby standing by the road, which is not safe for me due to my previous experience. The distance is also the longest when you drive. I had to cancel the application and was told that the refund will take 2 - 3 working days, today we are on day 3 with no refund. I need to find a place as a matter of urgency to move in on the 1st May. I paid R 12 000 and have been told that R 2500 is nonrefundable. No lease was signed or any signed agreement of the deposit by myself to Central Dev. Now Tshepang is telling me ( today 24.04.24) that Central Dev is a big company with 45 different developments and their refund process takes 7 - 14 workings days and that she is pushing for the refund latest tomorrow. What about the fact that I'm looking for a place and I need to make payment. No where does it states that the refund take x amount of days. As well as that the deposit is nonrefundable even if the contract is not signed and before viewing the unit.
