Deposit Withheld @ Woodlands Place

I’ve been a tenant at Woodlands Place for a year, and though we had our issues at some point, I was always impressed with the level of service received, and the communication from the Marketing team.

This was until a new Marketing team took over, and everything seemed to go downhill from there.

I was moved into one of the newer units, and when I complained that the Wifi doesn’t connect in the bedrooms, I was advised to buy a WiFi extender. I was unable to use my shower for the first month because there was little to no water pressure from the shower. As indicated, this took about a month to resolve because everyone was on holiday in December and it was nearly impossible to find someone to assist.

When the time comes to renew your contract, it suddenly feels like you’re the most popular person on the property. They will call you constantly, as if they don’t keep a record of who they’ve contacted and when. Once you renew your lease, you become another number, forgotten until the next lease renewal date.

Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, I had to cancel my lease. I gave the required one month notice, and provided Stefan with all the information that I was given by my place of employment to support my need to vacate.

I moved out on April 30th, even though Stefan had indicated on email that I could move out on May 1st, knowing that it was a public holiday. Less than a week after I moved out, they already had a new tenant occupying the unit, which means the company didn’t suffer any financial loss from my moving out.

I’ve sent Stefan a number of follow up emails in regards to my deposit, and his last response was that he would have feedback on the 1st of June. I’ve followed up and had no response since then.

I am very disappointed with how this situation has been handled and the lack of communication from this team.

All i would like is for my deposit to be paid back. I find it very offensive that Stefan has not responded to my mails at all.

Though I like the quality of the units, it’s fair to say that this experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth and I doubt I will ever recommend anyone to live at Woodlands Place with this team in place.

Good day Keneilwe  In terms of your lease agreement there is a penalty fee chargeable for early termination, however we will investigate all aspects of this matter and revert back to you as soon as possible.  Regards Clientcare
