Deposit refund nightmare

My rent was paid for December 2023 via swipe eft. My Jan 2024 statement reflected receipt of the payment. I was required to submit proof. I sent the transaction detail and their own statement issued to me by their offices. Sounds impossible right, but it's true. To add to this, they then required an actual bank statement. Delaying tactics? The deposit refund process is delayed and deductions for marks and spots on the walls were unreasonable. For a finance office not to be in a position to confirm payment with the actual transaction detail submitted plus their own statement detail, is a huge concern.
