Poor Service and ****

My sister recently took her phone to a repair technician at Springs Mall for a battery replacement and a new screen protector. She was charged R700—R500 for the battery and R200 for the screen protector. Shortly after the repair, her screen began displaying signs of liquid damage, resembling a leaking screen.

We returned to the technician to address the issue, but he claimed the phone had been dropped in water, specifically a bath, which we knew was untrue. To get a second opinion, we consulted another technician in the same mall, who explained that this type of screen damage is typically caused by exposure to substances like spirits or benzine—likely used during the initial repair.

When we confronted the original technician with this professional opinion, he became defensive and refused to fix the damage or take responsibility. At this point, I believe he should either repair the screen at no additional cost, issue a full refund, or face appropriate action, including the potential closure of his business for ********* practices.
