Cederkloof Retreat - refreshing for the soul.
This is the second time I have stayed at this retreat...and a true haven it surely is. I normally stay for two weeks to write my books and you can not wish for a better place to find yourself and the words that have been eluding you in your hectic, everyday city life! The service is professional and friendly. I always stay in the open plan, one bedroom cottage. Your cottage is cleaned every day, fresh towels are supp****, and you can ask for your jacuzzi to be cleaned or refilled with water whenever needed. There are coffee beans, brown sugar and a coffee grinder for the best cuppa in in the world while you watch the sun comes up. There is a microwave, fridge that can take about two weeks' worth of Woollies frozen meals (ask me) and a working fireplace with wood supp**** *you pay per bag and for electricity for the jacuzzi. The shower works and is spacious. The bed is big and overlooks the mountain range. There are two doors going out onto the stoep and you can basically walk from the bedroom into your jacuzzi which has the perfect view on a full moon which always seems to arrive when i am there. This time I was entertained to an arena of stars ... and even a shooting star! This place is not for the bling person. Or for the person who needs to hear the clinging sound of slot machines. It is for the nature ***** who will appreciate the love that went into creating the beautiful fynbos gardens, the eco-friendly privacy created with wood logs in front of the houses, the two challenging, invigorating mountain walks. If you do need your fix, there is wifi in the main entertainment area, there are bean bags to chill out on and the reception was good enough for me to use my phone as hotspot and send articles to work when needed to. Oh and did I mention the kitchen has a beautiful view and there are orchards to wander around in!!!. This is a retreat for the soul. A paradise for the writer, the dreamer and the active nature ***** alike.
