On the recommendation of a friend who suggested that CEB Paints Vanderbijlpark manufactures high quality products, I started purchasing liquid rubber paint from CEB Paints Vanderbijlpark. The first purchase of this liquid rubber paint was on 11 December 2025. I purchased 14, 20 Lt containers to paint the tile roof of the house I am busy restoring. I again purchased on several occasions "all the invoices are available", in total 22, 20 Lt rubber liquid containers totalling to the value of R15 400. On Tuesday 28 April 2026 I again purchased 3 x 20 Lt containers of the Charcoal colour as the invoice of 6 January 2026 indicated. Upon my arrival at my premises where the paint is to be used I was informed that the colour of the paint I bought on 28 April 2026 and that used to restore my house did not correspond. I contacted the owner Rina and on Thursday 28 April 2026 I took the 3 containers to be exchanged. Rina the owner did exchange it and on that occasion I personally introduced myself and she was astonished by the fact I have been blind for the past 31 years. On departure she led me to my vehicle. I explained to her that the people assisting me at the restoration site indicated that the colours do not match and I put that forward as the main problem. I reiterated the fact that I am totally satisfied with the quality of the product, however on this occasion it was the colour not the quality. After the exchange on Thursday 28 April 2026 when I reached the restoration premises again, I was informed that the colour of the exchanged paint still do not match. My assistant then entered into a whatsapp conversation with Rina and indicated that the colours still do not match. In order to confirm this we took a roof tile, painted the old colour of the restored house's roof and painted the rest of the tile with the new paint. We then indicated that on Monday morning ie the 4 May 2026 I will once again return to exchange the paint for the right colour. When I returned the paint to be exchanged for the colour I was looking for Rina informed me that she no longer will do business with a client who does not know what he wants and that is her final take on the situation and that she was going to put the phone down. She did. The call lasted 1min and 11 seconds. I fully except her decision as I will get somewhere else to use the paint, however I take great exception to the manner in which I was treated. Rina knows very well that I am blind, my assistant indicated that she was typing the message on my behalf and could see that the colours do not match. I sincerely hope that a tragedy such as becoming blind in a motor car accident never happens to Rina as she will then surely not be able to make and or sell paint of any colour. Not withstanding the High quality of the product, the way customers are treated nullifies that whole miniature business and will never succeed in becoming a viable company.
