I took a short term insurance policy with Santam more than 10 years ago. the administrators of this policy is CDA solutions. Few years back, i subsequently discovered that they cancelled the policy without any valid reason as the money was available on the account for premium collection. I then told them to reinstate the policy. During the reinstatement, the CDA solutions ( administrators) erroneously insured the incorrect risk address. In December, we experience a terrible thunderstorm/ lightning event which caused a damage to my refrigerator. I then contacted my insurer to submit a claim. They informed me that I do not have the risk address insured. I requested the recordings. It too more than two weeks just to get the recordings. The recordings revealed that the Call Centre agent made a mistake by insuring the incorrect risk address. Even though its proven that the error is on their side, its still taking weeks for them to fix the information on their system. They tried to correct the risk address but now they omitted to add contents into the policy. They only added the building. I informed them that the policy insured both building (R500K) & contents (R150K) with a maximum monthly premium of R348.00. Currently they have not added the the contents into the policy. As a result of this IT issues they are unable to process my claim. This claim is registered from 01 December 2025. I have been waiting for more than 2 months for this claim to be paid. I have never seen such an appalling service.
