MISLEADING ON PRODUCT INFORMATION
<p>MISLEADING INFORMATION ON PRODUCT SOLD BY CCI-SA SALES AGENT</p> <p>On the 07th October 2016, approximately 11:00, I received a call from a Sales Consultant from a company called CCI-SA.</p> <p>She was selling the following product for data and calls:</p> <p>ü HUAWEI Router</p> <p>ü 1.5 GB Data – Use out of home</p> <p>ü 10 GB Telkom Hot-Spot Wi-Fi up to 10 devices</p> <p>ü 50 Mins call time</p> <p>ü Two sim cards</p> <p>The Cost was R99 admin fee and R138 pm for 24 months.</p> <p>Based on the information she gave him I thought it was an excellent deal and signed up telephonically.</p> <p>By the following Friday my router and Sim Cards was delivered.</p> <p>I charged the router as they indicated and put in the one sim card to connect to the Wi-Fi at home. After an hour it said Telkom out of Data bundle. I then tried the other sim card the next day and same result. I then called the call centre and was told to activate the sim cards with Telkom.</p> <p>I then approached Telkom who indicated the One sim card is active and on my name. I then gave them the other sim card and it is not even registered to me. It was for a Mr Smith. So they gave me a product for someone else.</p> <p>The worst part was when I told Telkom the package I bought they indicated the data was 1 GB. They then told me the Wi-Fi could only be used where there was Telkom hot spots e.g. Nandos, Mcddonalds etc. I was devastated as the sales consultant indicated that I could use the Wi-Fi at home.</p> <p>Furious, I contacted the customer care line. They indicated that I could not cancel the contract until a request of my voice recording with the sales consultant was done and audited. They said it would be done within 48 hours. I gave them a week. When I called today, 29 October 2016, they indicated only by Monday I can get feedback.</p> <p>Is there any recourse for me in this situation?
