CCD Group's director, Tertius van Der Merwe, sold us a big renovation project (kitchen, old bathroom revamp, new guest loo, lounge extension and house/boundary wall/roof paint) at a great price on the premise that he had secured significant discounts from his preferred suppliers eg B-bizzare/Union Tiles. On the basis of a signed contract we paid him an 80% deposit to buy and store all the stock to be brought on site as and when needed. He committed to a 30-45 day completion timeframe. After 45 days, the renovated areas were just shells and he asked for more money to buy stock which we had already paid for. We refused and from then onwards could not get them back on site nor get our money back, R110,000 at a conservative estimate. We have had to move on with another builder to complete the project but are still considering our legal options against CCD Group.
