CBS KRUGERSDORP
On 12 February 2019 we sent our vehicle in for the front brakes to be checked and repaired. We were told that we needed to replace the front disc's and pad. This was done and the invoice was paid
On 13 March 2019 the truck had to be sent back to CBS Krugersdorp as the brakes where making a strange sound. The brake pads had to be changed again and we were told that the wheel bearings were worn and this had caused the damage to the brake pads. We approved the replacement of both front wheel bearings. This was done and the invoice was paid
On 1 April 2019 the truck was again sent back as the brake pads again needed to be replaced and disc's skimmed. We were not billed for this as it was seen as a comeback by the workshop.
On 25 May 2019 the truck had to be towed to our site we were working on East Rand as the brakes failed on the way to site. The brake pads had to be replaced on site with no supervision. We were not billed for this as it was seen as a comeback by the workshop.
During the week ending 25 October 2019 the truck had to be towed in from site and when we got to the yard it was found that the left wheel bearing had completely failed and damaged the hub. The right wheel bearing is almost dry. Bearings are sealed units and should not run dry in such a short time?
We contacted Stefan at CBS Krugersdorp and he tells us that the warranty on parts is only 3 months and labour only 6 months. Surely they did not use parts of such inferior quality? There was never any warranty on parts or labour stipulated on the invoice.
Before CBS Krugersdorp worked on this vehicle we did not have a problem with the brakes. However since they have worked on our vehicle the vehicle has had to go back multiple times and job has still not been done correctly. I am very dissatisfied with the service and parts that we have received from CBS Krugersdorp. It is inconceivable that parts fitted by a reputable company do not last past 3 months. At no stage during the comebacks in the months after the initial repair were we ever given an explanation as to why the damage kept occurring so we can only assume that the parts used were of inferior quality and labour substandard. I sent a complaint to their head office requesting that my vehicle be repaired at no cost with suitable parts and supervised labour as I have already paid for the job which was not done correctly and they said they would investigate and come back to me. When following up with the Head Office I was told the matter had been sorted out but no-one has ever contacted me and no further correspondence has been received.
