Very disappointed
My family and I stayed at Cayley Lodge from 19 to 26 October 2018. Although the area is beautiful and the chalets well appointed, we were very disappointed with the facilities.
I assume that all of the advertised facilities would usually be available, but we were unfortunate to visit the resort while they were doing a large amount of upgrades. Naturally, I understand that maintenance is a requirement at any establishment. However, there was no indication that this would be the case when I booked.
The following facilities were not available to myself or my family due to renovations: Restaurant – the restaurant was closed for the duration of our stay. Waterpark – Although I know that this is not under your control, the water level was so low that it was almost impossible for my children to utilize the facilities at the waterpark. Surely some indication of this state could have been indicated when we booked? Games room – throughout the stay, the games room was closed for renovations. Bar – same with the bar. Swimming pool and jacuzzi – I was informed that the jacuzzi had been renovated but was still missing some parts and therefore the solar heating was not operating. The water was absolutely freezing cold. Boating/kayaks – the kayaks appear to be left out in the sun at all times and as a result are disintegrating. In addition to this, your listing in the Holiday Club magazine states that there is a trampoline - we could not find it. Same with the resort lounge and chill zones. Where is the Foosball? The resort is graded as a 4+ and as such is not very cheap. I however do not feel that we were afforded the value I expect.
I sent emails to the Holiday Club as well as Cayley Lodge management and to date have only received a survey request from the Holiday Club. Cayley Lodge has not bothered to respond.
