Outstanding fine

I sold my vehicle to Cayenne Kyalami ( sales person James ) more than a year ago my vehicle was sold to a customer and the vehicle was taken while still on my name, the new owner got a traffic fine on which I did contact James and emailed the fine to him, now a year later a summons was issued to me for not paying the fine.
