VERY POOR SERVICE

My husband and I were invited out for dinner with a friend last night and we actually recommend the Van Riebeeckshof Branch as we have gone there a few times before. I always looked forward to going because I absolutely loved the Chicken Cordon Bleu but was very disappointed with the service and food served last night. See points below,

* Waiter brought white wine instead of red * Took a while to get the food order correct * He was over sharing, inappropriate and very inexperienced although he claimed he was a chef for 10 years * ****tails were sent back as they had big blocks of ice in them mixed with watered down alcohol, we were told we were lucky to get a cherry on top * We waited about 10 min just for two new drinks * When my chicken arrived I was shocked as it looked completely different as to what I was used to. See attached picture. The 1st one was what I got previously and the second pic is what I got last night. * My food came first, we had no place mats or cutlery. The waiter realised this and ran back, then a different waiter brought cutlery and cold veggies (Tasted like a pot of sugar was thrown over the butternut, the spinach was dry and tasteless) * The first waiter returned and said he will not be dealing with our food as he just cut his finger. Then 2 minutes later he is back with my husband and our friends food. (I was very concerned that he continued to handle our food) They ordered the Chateaubriand which looked like it was hacked so they could cook it quicker. The fries were tasteless and looked old. My husbands sauce had crusts on top. * When I cut into my chicken, water came running out. The sauce that was over the top of the chicken was definitely not cheese sauce. I specially asked for cheese sauce on the side * When the manager(John Edwards) asked if we enjoyed our meal we expressed our concerns and made sure he knew we were unhappy. His attitude was absolutely shocking. He was rude and did not bother apologising. He was actually arguing with me. We sat at the dirty table for a while and I actually asked him if he would please take the plates and he refused. He walked away saying that's what waiters are for. * When we left the restaurant he was sitting close to the exit and we got dirty looks from him and the people at his table as we walked out.
