Complaint re Main Meals and Manager's approach
On Saturday my Samantha friend and I met up at what (now) use to be one of our favourite restaurants; Cattle Barons, 44 Raapenberg Road, Pinelands.
We had a good catch up and thoroughly enjoyed the recommended Crumbed Mushrooms starter which was top class. Regrettably when our main meals arrived the food was awful.
The ribs tasted like it had water in it and the manager Kyle apologised and said that it was pre-cooked that way and he tasted it was watery too.
My Eisbein was undoubtedly the most horrible Eisbein i had ever had in my life. The Eisbein was also pre-cooked and I must admit it was grilled to perfection on the outside but the inside was absolutely bland. I called the waiter and gave him a piece of the meat to taste without me telling him anything he responded that he would inform the chef as the meat tasted and i quote "bland".
What was so surprising is that Kyle (the Manager) insisted (after he had tasted the Eisbein) that it was splendid and they usually make it that way but he understood and agreed that the ribs were somewhat "watery".
Even though he offered to get us a other meal at the time it was his total disregard for my complaint that made me lose my appetite.
Cattle Baron was one of our groups girly go-to place for an intimate and serene catch up with great food and environment, however, after the experience on Saturday we are really disappointed.
Whilst we were at the diner Kyle was called indoors (we were sitting outside) to address another complaint from another patron and it's sad that he has an expectancy of at least "2-3 complaints per week". In the end it appears that our complaint was just treated as another benchmark reached.
This is really sad. The hotel and restaurant industry has suffered so much over the past year and a half that i do believe that you should strive for no complaints and instead aim to exceed client’s expectations.
I could maybe have found a space to understand the bad food if the restaurant was full and/or busy but really you could count the 5-6 tables that were taken that day.
Extremely disappointed patrons.
Regards Lynette & Samantha
