A Disturbing Experience at Cattle Baron
Booked a table at Cattle Baron for seven people, including a 4 year-old, expecting a relaxed family outing. Four hours into our visit, we were shocked when a waitress shouted at my nephew, saying, “Get out! I’m tired of you guys not listening!” What makes this even more concerning is that we were seated directly next to the play area with full view and can hear cause its not sound proof! Only after the incident were we told there was an age restriction for that area but this had been offered to my nephew by the waiter!!😬 I approached the manager, who introduced himself as the owner. Unfortunately, instead of listening to our concerns, he immediately defended his waitress, saying she spoke appropriately because she is a parent. A parent to whom? Being a parent does not justify speaking to someone else’s child in that manner. When my sister also tried to explain our side, we were told that two other tables had complained about the noise and that he had to “look at it both ways.” Yet during the four hours we had been there, not a single staff member approached us to raise any concerns. My nephew had been playing quietly on his own until an older child joined in, which is when the play area naturally became louder. We cannot be held responsible for another family’s child. What disappointed me most was not just how my nephew was spoken to, but the complete lack of accountability and willingness to hear us out. As family members, we all had a right to address how a child in our group was treated, whether or not we were his parents. I left feeling disgusted by the way we were treated. I told the owner that he was unwilling to accept feedback, and it was clear that, in his view, his staff could do no wrong.

Best restaurant in Blouberg
If you appreciate truly exceptional cuisine, Cattle Baron Blouberg is an absolute masterclass in dining. This was my second visit in less than a week, and it somehow surpassed the first. The snails in compound garlic butter were spectacular—absolutely next level. For the main, I opted for the garlic sirloin. It was executed flawlessly. I prefer medium-rare, my wife requires well-done, and my son takes medium; every single cut arrived cooked precisely to order. The meat itself is phenomenal—ultra-buttery, melt-in-the-mouth perfection boasting a deep, rich, savory beef flavor capped with a flawless caramelized crust. My son and his girlfriend shared the Chateaubriand For Two, which was nothing short of a culinary triumph. The fillet was beautifully seasoned and expertly prepared. After just three bites, my son remarked that it was easily one of the finest steaks he has ever had. Even the sides were outstanding, packed with distinct, vibrant flavor. Our waiter, Bruce, provided world-class service. He was attentive, highly professional, and anticipated our every need, transforming an already great meal into a truly memorable event. From the pristine quality of the meat to the mind-blowing, perfectly balanced sauces, Cattle Baron’s signature dishes are unrivaled. To the entire team: an absolute job well done.
