<p>On a contract upgrade I selected a Caterpillar phone which the salesperson touted as virtually indestructible. The user manual in the box states the phone can be submerged for up to 30min at a depth no greater than 1m and has been drop tested from a height of 1.8m.</p> <p> </p> <p>My son dropped the dsevice from his pocket and the screen shattered - Vodacom have stated they were not present at the time of the incident so will not honor the claim and the supplier has indicated they will not repair due to the device being damaged.</p> <p> </p> <p>I have further been advised if water damaged the device would not be repaired as supplier and Vodacom were not present to substantiate my claim - shocking that sales and after sales cannot back what the manufacturer states in their user manual</p>
