Casuarina is unprofessional in every way possible
THE WORST AND MOST UNPROFESSIONAL SPA EXPERIENCE EVER!
To list: No COVID screening was done.
No Spa Health questionnaire was done, verbally or paper based (surely not in keeping with Spa regulations?).
On greeting payment was to be made up front (not usual at a Spa and a very abrupt introduction to the Spa experience).
Offered cold water which never arrived.
Only one massage the****** introduced herself (Pelisa), my partners the****** did not utter a word to him or introduce herself, even before she started massaging him.
There is a hole in the therapy room ceiling above where we hang our bags and clothes - highly suspicious.
One the****** continued to snort loudly throughout the entire massage.
The therapy beds are extremely squeaky during the massage (not conducive to a relaxing environment).
The the******s clearly do not have basic and necessary understanding of anatomy, since they both compressed important and painful nerve structures regularly including the vascular area in the neck that helps control blood pressure (what happens to people with blood pressure problems?). As the******s there should be an automatic and inherent etiquette around accommodating a client in such compromising/vulnerable positions and this was sorely lacking in the experience.
The room door was opened and closed at least 3 times while we were having the Swedish massage (Highly unprofessional considering we were indisposed). This point is actually the most upsetting and concerning to me as it communicates a lack of respect to the client.
Regarding the Spa bath treatment, I questioned whether we needed to bring any personal hygiene products with us to utilise or if Casuarina would provide them and this was met with confusion around why it was necessary. Is it not a logical question regarding Health and Safelty measures that the Spa are required to uphold? And what about the client experience? Pardon my ignorance in this matter but I am under the impression that a Hydro Therapy Spa bath, as labelled per their treatment menu, involved a little more than just tap water. I am sure you will agree that R550 for a tap water bath would be considered steep by any persons standards.
We raised these concerns with the spa manager afterwards and was reassured that these concerns had never been raised before (clearly not the truth when looking at all the complaints and the exceptionally poor rating here on HelloPeter) and that they would refund us in full which has also not happened and now they are not responding to emails.
