Pathetic and beyond pointless

In a day and age where every major bank has a virtual card and every phone can be used to tap for payments. Why in the hell do events choose this idiotic cashless system. When requesting a refund the card is either not recognized or you're told after the event that it's an active event and refunds are not allowed.
