Worst service ever

Went to Cash Converters in 2015 and bought a hardrive less than a year the thing crashed. Then in 2016 I bought a bread maker and a hot tray 10 months later both items broke the hot tray I used for the first time on Friday 2017/07/07 the glass ontop shattered into small pieces when I switched it on. So I called the Head office and explained what happened so because the back of the slip says 6 months guarantee it is the only reply they had sorry ma'm we can't help you it is written in black and white. So I called the AM same thing it's as if this gives them the greatest joy. She tried to compare their faulty second hand goods they sell customers to a dress I would buy at Edgars, Edgars don't sell second hand and I have no issue with their customer service. Then I had to hear how they are all about customer service. So I told her if you are so good and customer focused why don't you inform the client instore that they are buying a second hand item there's no guarantee it'll work for a year there is a 6 month guarantee on it then the customer can make the decisssion there to buy at own risk and if this is how you are customer focussed I fail to see how you are when you are not . My question then was why can't they change there guarentee from 6 months to 1 year especially on electrical appliances would it really hurt.

Good day
Thanks for taking the time to lodge your complaint on Hellopeter.
Please note that most of our goods carry a 6 month guarantee and not a 12 month guarantee. This is in accordance with the second-hand goods act.
As per our conversation, the goods were tested in the store before you made your purchasing decision and they worked. Should you have gone home and tested these at home and found them faulty, we would have either refunded you, replaced or had the goods checked by an external supplier.
Unfortunately we can not assist you further in this matter as we do not believe we have done anything outside of what is expected of us in this matter.
