When good staff remain good out of the workplace

<p>I used to be regular client at Cash Converters Empangeni, while they were still open last year in 2015.</p> <p> </p> <p>About 90% of the time I was helped by Dante, if not him I was helped by Gordon.</p> <p> </p> <p>Now Dante had an attitude in this kind of business that really seemed to fit in awkwardly well. At first I thought it was his training (maybe it was, work changes a person, sometimes for good or better).</p> <p> </p> <p>The he acted in the workplace was constantly positive, always doing things with a smile. Whether I phoned him to ask him to keep my ring a bit longer or when he had to go an extra mile or even out of his way to help me, he did just that.</p> <p> </p> <p>Last week I bumped into him at a grocery store in Empangeni, and I expected him to not recognize me or maybe just call me on my first name. But instead it was "Good day Mrs Olivier, how are you doing?" </p> <p>He definitely seemed in a hurry, but it didn't stop him from greeting me and showing courtesy.</p> <p> </p> <p>Never have I seen this before, staff who worked almost a year ago at a store, to greet their old clients the same way they would as if they were helping him/her in-store. </p> <p> </p> <p>If this is how Cash Converters trains their staff (or the the store owners) I am truly impressed. You seem to make people better. Or maybe it was just his personality, I don't know. I went to the Richards Bay branch, kind of expecting to see him there, but I guess he left the company for good maybe?</p> <p> </p> <p>In any case, keep up the good work and keep training your staff to this manner.</p>
