Rude Security Guard and misleading business operating times

On Friday the 24 January , I rushed to get to Cash converters Midrand because I had eyed a laptop that I'd wanted to buy for my wife.

Traffic on the road was hectic, but I managed to get to cash converters at 17h45 on the dot. A security guard manning the door, rudely told me that they were closed. I asked what time they close because I knew the time had to be 6pm.

But he stood there, rudely telling me that I will not go in, because they are closed and have to pack all the things they've put outside the store on display. I immediately told him how rude he was and how sad it is when people like him are unemployed, because they forget to be polite to customers. I asked him who told him the closing time is 17h45, and he said he is the authority that decides. It's 17h45 and that's it.

I was so angry when I left there, and vowed to take it further. Yesterday, on Sunday, I again went to the shop with my wife, and showed her the laptop I wanted to buy for her. I actually bought her a laptop elsewhere now, following this treatment at Cash Converters, but just wanted to show her what she missed out on.

Following up on what happened on Friday, I asked two ladies, who work behind the main desk what the security guard's name was. It was almost on cue that both of them said they didn't know his name. Then, after they saw I was actually repulsed by it, the one lady said they just call the security guard in question, Papi. I find that hard believe, that even they dont know their own security guard's name. It occurred to me, that they were protecting him. So the only name I have to go by is Papi.

As a business, cash converters lost R4000 that I would have used to buy that laptop, because of a rude security guard. Secondly, the operating times for all cash converters, including the Midrand China mall one, is 6pm. I even looked online, and the time they close is 6pm.

Why is a security guard changing operating times? Why are they costing your company business, which in turn is used to pay his security company? I am extremely livid and will probably never again go to that converters. Check the ppl you employ, and the security guards you put at the forefront of your business. They are the reason many costumers turn back and don't buy.

Extremely disappointed. I literally live 5 minutes away from your establishment in Midrand. Not recommending that cash converters any time soon.
