I see Nthabi M complained about the very same issue I'm having. My husband took out a 123 loan last November, the payment went out in December, January only. We went in February to get the same 123 and the store assistant told us the February payment didn't go through. She called head office to ask them to take their money because we told her there are funds,then didn't. She told my husband days later to call and he did that only to be transferred from one agent to another. So they didn't take their money or bother calling or sending an SMS to him until last week they decided to charge interest and breakdown payment in three months. They said his account was insufficient funds, which is not true. I think when debit orders don't go through, they keep quiet and don't contact you deliberately so they charge interest. They say they couldn't call him because of the lockdown haha who's fault is that because other businesses took their PC s and asked people to work from home. Now because Cash Converters as a big company can't manage it's business, it's the clients fault? Now they telling us when the debit order doesn't go through it goes to a collection company. Debt collectors are supposed to call you and find out what is going on. These debt collectors keep quiet and then decide to charge interest. No one has ever called my husband until he complained last week. They say because of lockdown...this happened in February. Lockdown happened end of March...in between those days before lockdown why didn't they call and why didn't they deduct when he kept calling head office? Answer so they charge interest and make more money. I think they do this to most people.
