<p>Dodgiest store I have ever bought in. If you want to get your emotions messed with, go to Cash Converters Balfour Park. The staff is so dishonest, they deserve a slow clap. 1. I bought a desktop - which they claimed had NO challenges, except replacing the keyboard and screen. That wasn't such a big deal so I bought it. Getting home I discovered that the USB ports were not working, except for two. So each time I use it with a Flash Stick, I have to unplug either the mouse or keyboard. Starting the computer is a mission. Many speakers are not compatible, so unless I use earphones, I usually read the lips of whoever is speaking in my videos. Quite impressive I must say, I think that's their unique selling point. Selling broken electronics ... 2. I escorted a friend who wanted to buy a phone, of course, I volunteered to check the condition of the phone. The phone was perfect, except CASH CONVERTERS DID NOT HAVE THE PASSWORD TO THE GOOGLE ACCOUNT OF THE PREVIOUS USER, talk about quality service. They were audacious enough to try and talk us into buying it regardless of this fact. 3. A close friend bought an aerial for R300 - brand new - which she later realised she didn't really need. SO, without using it, she decided to return it to the store for a refund. I tagged along. Getting to the same store, with receipts, the refund was denied. She was advised to go to their trade-in department where she could basically sell it back to Cash Converters. She was offered half the money she used to buy it, and the attendant didn't seem to care about what a loss this was on her side. PS, run for your life if you get referred to this department, it's a streetwise, cutthroat, dog-eat-customer world. I am warning you, don't go there. 4. They deceive their customers concerning prices. When I bought that excuse of a computer - more like a Windows d&eacute;class&eacute; - from Cash Converters, (such an insult to one's intelligence), the price was low, only to find out that it was the price for one part of the desktop. One actually has to pay extra for the missing essentials - which brings the price close to that of a normal brand-new item. SO why not just buy a new one? I have everything against dishonesty and ignoble business ethics. It would be glad tidings if they shut down! Bottom line is, I have had terrible experiences with their electronic products - both second-hand and new, as well as their customer service. I would never encourage anyone to traumatise themselves with this store (especially the one in Balfour Park). I wouldn't know about their other branches, but my advice is BUY BRAND NEW ELECTRONIC PRODUCTS from a trusted store, with a genuine warranty. All their products (that I have bought) are warranty void. Which means they will NOT repair or replace malfunctioning goods sold to you - even if you use the product for its intended purpose. They have a special "warranty void" sticker, look out for it. All the best, buy at your own risk. :)</p>
