Don't buy or sell from Carzuka.

Don't even try selling your vehicle to Carzuka. They will waste your time and money.

If I could rate their service in the negatives, I would.

I have a Volvo XC90 that I inherited from my late grandfather. It is a lovely vehicle and I have driven it for a while, but it is too big for my needs, especially since I live in a city. Thus I wanted to sell it. After I first approached Cartrack they said it can't be sold from the estate unless I had the original ID of the deceased and the executor. My grandmother, who is the executrix, lives in Still Bay, and I live in Pretoria. The vehicle is with me. Obviously it's impossible to get an original ID here. They wouldn't even accept a certified copy. So they said I need to have the vehicle ownership changed. My grandmother went and submitted the NCO. Then I contacted Carzuka again to let them know I am now ready.

For context, the vehicle is in almost perfect condition. Yes, it is almost ten years old but it is very well looked after.

I approached Carzuka since they gave me a fair offer on the vehicle. I arranged for the vehicle to be viewed and the agent by the name of Khaya came out to look at the vehicle. After test driving the vehicle, which he was happy about, he asked me what I was looking to sell the vehicle for. I gave him the offer that was sent to me via email, which was R190k. After about 15 minutes he said they won't even offer R140k, unless I took it and got a Dekra report saying that the vehicle is fine.

I did that the same day, paying over R700 for the report. Then his offer was only R150k, but to sell the car I reluctantly accepted. Then next thing, they were unhappy since the vehicle wasn't registered in my name - which I had confirmed with one of their employees would be fine.

So I did the registration. Another R1500 for registration and R780 for roadworthy.

Then they started asking for one document after another since "It can't be proved that I am the owner of the vehicle". That after I even gave them a signed and certified affidavit confirming that I am the owner of the vehicle. They even asked for a document signed by the High Court confirming the above, which proves the utter idiocy of the employees. The high court can't even give reasonable court dates, why would they worry about such a menial thing as a vehicle?

I then asked for a letter from the attorney of the estate confirming that I am the owner of the vehicle and confirming that the affidavit is valid.

Despite all of this, and the time (almost a month) and money wasted Khaya contacted me this morning saying they will not purchase the vehicle.

This is the worst incompetence and absolute abhorrent service from a car dealer I have even witnessed. I have now wasted a month and almost R3,000.00 on nothing.

Don't buy or sell from Carzuka. They waste your time and money.
