Unprofessional and Very Disappointing Experience

Very Disappointing Experience with Carty Carvenience

I do not recommend Carty Carvenience, especially if you're expecting professional service. I initially went in for a PDR (Paintless Dent Removal) and also paid just to get a quote for a bigger panel beating, which is unheard of—the only place that charged for a quote out of 4 other quotes received. I paid it in good faith, expecting a thorough and accurate estimate with no hidden costs later. Unfortunately, it went downhill from there. • They damaged panels during the PDR. At first, they denied responsibility until we provided before-and-after photos. Only then did they agree to fix it. • We decided to combine the repair with a larger panel beating job and, despite receiving cheaper quotes elsewhere, chose them due to convenience and proximity. • Once we accepted the quote (excess of 60k) and put everything in writing, they started changing the deal—adding extra costs, including for fixing the damage they had caused themselves. • The front desk staff was rude, hung up on us, and refused to connect us with a manager. When we finally got a callback two days later, it came with excuses and more frustration. If this is how you're treated before your car is even booked in, I can’t imagine the stress after the work is done. Thankfully, we went with a competitor who: • Quoted for free • Stripped the car properly for an accurate estimate • Kept to their original quote • Delivered flawless work and professional service throughout

Carty Carvenience may look convenient, but in my experience, they’re unprofessional, unreliable, and not equipped to handle vehicles properly.

Warning – First impression is good but that is where they catch you, rather take your car to a proper panel beater than using this unprofessional company. NOT RECOMMENDED to anyone who wants quality, on time and trustworthy people to work with.

Verdict: Avoid if you value transparency, professionalism, and quality.

Dear Mr. de Witt,We are glad you were able to have your vehicle repaired to your expectations elsewhere. That said, we must correct certain inaccuracies for the sake of fairness.Your review is based only on a quotation process which you chose not to proceed with, and therefore it does not reflect the quality of our repair work. Comments on workmanship are therefore not applicable. The original PDR quotation was prepared and carried out according to industry standards, and no issues were raised with the PDR work itself — only with unrelated concerns outside the scope of that quotation and with damages not caused by us.At your request, we then prepared a full front-end quotation, which required significant time (including strip and assessment). This was done without the standard R100 quotation fee being paid, nor any fee for the strip-and-assemble labour. For context, our quotation policy is clearly communicated to all clients and includes a refund if the work proceeds — a transparent process accepted by our many satisfied customers. After the front-end quote was provided, you requested additional work (panel alignment, interior refinishing, fitment of parts supp**** by you, etc.), which naturally required additional labour. Labour charges apply regardless of whether parts are sourced by us or provided by the client, which is standard industry practice. In addition, all quotations clearly state that part prices must be re-confirmed at the time of acceptance, as supplier pricing can change daily — which explains the update delay after your additional requests.Throughout this process, our team assisted you professionally, courteously, and to the best of their ability, as many of our clients will confirm on a daily basis. Unfortunately, the manner in which our staff were treated — including swearing and shouting — fell short of the respectful interaction we uphold and normally experience with our clients. At Carty Carvenience, we stand by our quoting procedures, our standards of workmanship, and our commitment to transparency and professionalism. We remain proud of the trust placed in us by so many satisfied clients who value the quality and reliability of our service.Sincerely,
Management

Response again classic deflection — instead of owning up to their mistakes, they twist the narrative to make it seem like the customer is at fault, complete with false allegations. Absolutely no accountability. Avoid at all costs!
