Worst After-Sales Service – Faulty Device Destroyed My Battery & Cartrack Does Nothing

Cartrack installed trackers and cameras in three of my vehicles, and two of their devices started draining my batteries — one of them completely killed a brand-new battery. I reported this on 8 November, then again on 26 November and 3 December, and all I got was the same useless automated reply. A full month with zero follow-up.

When they were selling me products, they called me 3–4 times a day. But when their equipment is faulty and costing me money? Silence.

Now they want to charge me to remove their own defective device — or move it to another car I don’t even own. Absolutely unacceptable.

This is a clear CPA violation, and I’ve lodged a complaint. Debit orders are being stopped, and the rest of my vehicles will be removed from Cartrack as well.

The level of incompetence and disregard for customers is shocking.

Two days later and Cartrack is still proving exactly why this entire situation has become a nightmare.
The level of incompetence and zero communication inside this company is honestly shocking.
Let me be very clear:
The only reason I even received a response was because I posted on HelloPeter. Without this platform, Cartrack would have happily continued ignoring over a month’s worth of emails and WhatsApps.
And what makes this worse is that Cartrack themselves stated — in writing:
“We will urgently review the devices and arrange the necessary repair, removal, or relocation without any cost to you. We will also ensure that no charges are app**** while this issue is being resolved.”
Yet somehow, after making this promise, they still have the audacity to demand R350 to remove their faulty device that has been draining my car battery and putting my family at risk. This is not just bad service — this is blatant contradiction, unacceptable business practice, and complete disregard for their customers. Cartrack, you created this problem. You ignored it for more than a month. And now you want to charge me to fix your own mistake? Unbelievable.

This is now my 14th email and 5th WhatsApp message, and there has been absolutely no progress or resolution. Your complete lack of communication and accountability is unacceptable.
Your after-sales service is non-existent. While your company is highly efficient when it comes to selling and upselling products, you have demonstrated zero urgency or responsibility once a serious fault is reported. I have been left with no choice but to escalate this matter under the Consumer Protection Act, as your failure to respond is a clear disregard for your obligations as a service provider.
