************, Exploitative Business Model
I am giving Cartrack a two star rating because althought I had no problems with them whilst the service was being used by me, I strongly object to the fact that they (and many other vehicle tracking services) force one into a 2 or 3 year contract. When you cancel the service (because eg. you sold the vehicle), they will charge you for the full period even though you no longer have use of the device. It is ****************. Why should one have to pay for a service for which you have no benefit? It may be the business model for the industry, but it is still not right, and it is merely a way for them to guarantee their income irrespective of whether their device is useful the end user. So be warned, don't get a tracking device on these terms if you intend selling your vehicle in the near future.
Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback on your experience. We will investigate and are confident that this matter will be clarified.
Kind regards
The Cartrack Team

Saying that it was a rental with a fixed term, does not change that I am no longer able get the benefit of using the device.
One should be able to return the device if you sell the vehicle and not have to continue paying for something for which you will have no benefit (that is the point of rental vs outright purchase).
This is just a clever scheme to ensure your income stream and I am not satisfied with your answer.
Nonetheless, thank you for responding. At least I know in future not to sign a contract under those terms.
