Unauthorised Debit, Double Charging and Suspension Despite Following Instructions
I am extremely disappointed with the conduct of Cartrack regarding my subscription account.
In December, Cartrack sent a WhatsApp message informing clients that the debit date would be moved earlier due to anticipated early salary payments. Clients were given the option to either accept the earlier date or retain the original debit date. I explicitly selected the option to keep my original debit date.
Despite this, Cartrack proceeded to debit my account earlier than agreed. This caused my bank account to go into a negative balance of approximately R150. I immediately disputed this because the early debit was not authorised by me.
Instead of correcting their error, Cartrack informed me that my subscription would be suspended and that I would not have cover for the period. This is unacceptable, considering the shortfall resulted from their failure to honour my selected debit date.
The following month, they proceeded to debit my account twice without my authorisation. No satisfactory explanation or reconciliation was provided.
To make matters worse, my vehicle battery went flat and the tracking device went offline. I received no notification or warning regarding battery failure, which raises serious concerns about the monitoring reliability of the service I am paying for.
I am now being pressured for payment despite the unresolved dispute, unauthorised debit, and double charging. The handling of this matter demonstrates poor customer service, lack of accountability, and questionable debit practices.
