Sketchy Cartrack fee increases

I signed a 3 year contract with Cartrack in 2023. I wanted to cancel this year as their monthly fee is going up crazy amounts. I'm currently paying over R200 a month. After calling them to cancel, I was advised that I'll still need to pay over R2000 which includes the cancelation fee plus the rest of the unit fees.

My contract ends this year in November. If you calculate what I would've paid for the 3 years it would come to over R6000 for the unit plus service fee. How can it be that expensive?

After calling them to ask what their unit costs, they tell me it's on average R1300. This math does not add up. Please spare your money and go with someone who has a fixed price during the contract, or who allows you to pay the unit cash and then pay a small monthly service fee.

And note if you try to dispute this with their consultants they call you a **** and put the phone down in your ear.

I appreciate your prompt feedback; however, the math still doesn't explain how your units and fees can go up to R6000 for the 3 years when your competitors can give me a static fee without increases, or the option to buy the unit cash and pay the fees separately, which will also not accumulate to R6000 for the 3 years. This is still a rip-off in my opinion, and people should be made aware before they sign with you guys.
