Recovery warranty
I’m calling out to everyone for assistance. Cartrack has been dishonest with me and my woman. Upon us joining Cartrack we had different other tracker options, but we chose Cartrack because of their acclaim “recovery warranty”. We were specifically told if our car was not recovered, we would receive a sum worth the value of the car but not more than R150000. Our car was a Golf 7 2019. An extremely expensive car worth more than R150000.
Unfortunately, the car was hijacked last year. It was a very traumatic experience. We lost a lot because I was kidnapped and all funds in my account were unfortunately taken. Nonetheless, whilst all this happened, I found some closure in thought that our tracker (Cartrack) will at least recover our car and if they don’t they will recompense us with their promise of R150000.
We filed for the recovery warranty (bear in mind they never told us to apply for the warranty after we were hijacked until I asked them over the call - which they then further stated that there’s a time phase which you need to apply for it after the hijack, so basically if the time phase passes you can’t apply again). I don’t understand why clients are not told about all these things upon joining.
We had to wait for over a month before we got a response about our warranty, which they turned down due to disobliging reason. Their reason for dismissing our warranty is our tracker hasn’t been installed for more than 2 months. You can just imagine how heart-rending it felt, how poignant I was in choosing Cartrack.
Losing everything, losing money, losing car, mental health snatched, physiological welfare brutally broken these were all we went through. My woman and are only twenty-two and yet the world has inured us to such inhumane feelings.
I don’t want to mention a directly negative statement, so we won’t be sued for defamation, but the truth is Cartrack desensitizes our emotions. For an exceedingly long time now, we haven’t been well because of all these unfortunate circumstances.
Today I woke up a new man and decided to call Cartrack to find the truth about what exactly is going on. When I called, I told them I would like to get a tracker installed on my vehicle and asked for more information regarding their different packages. I was told that with the last most expensive package - which was the previous one we had on our hijacked car- we would get a panic button (a button to press when help is needed) and the recovery warranty is activated immediately after the tracker is installed. We never got any panic button on our previous car even though we had the most expensive package, and our warranty was denied because the tracker needs to be installed for more than 2 months.
Why is Cartrack telling us a different statement when we want to join but when it’s time to claim the warranty, they give unreasonable reasons. This is misleading customers; it is deceptive, and someone needs to call them out to this.
I have uploaded a video on Facebook we took whilst speaking to Cartrack today. Were they told us that the warranty is immediately active after the tracker is installed. I’ll further seek legal assistance.
This is unjust! This is *********! This is wrong!
