Poor service and unfairly treatment

I am writing to formally lodge a serious complaint regarding the unfair treatment I have experienced with Cartrack and to raise awareness of what I believe is unjust conduct toward customers.

In 2024, I informed Cartrack that the vehicle linked to my contract had been written off and was no longer in my possession. Despite this, I was advised that I could not cancel the contract unless I paid a full settlement amount of R2000. In an effort to find a reasonable solution, I requested that the tracking device be transferred to another vehicle. However, I was informed that doing so would require me to enter into a completely new contract.

With no assistance provided and no fair resolution offered, I continued to be debited until 2026. Out of frustration and in an attempt to get attention to my case, I reversed a debit order. Following this, I was contacted regarding the dispute, where I clearly explained my situation. At that point, Cartrack acknowledged my concerns and issued a cancellation confirmation on 24 February 2026.

However, despite receiving confirmation that my account had been cancelled, Cartrack proceeded to debit my account again in March 2026. This action is completely unjustified, as the account was no longer active.

To my shock, on 13 April 2026, I received communication stating that I have been blacklisted. This raises serious concerns. On what basis has this action been taken, when the account had already been cancelled and the matter was under dispute?

This experience reflects a disregard for fair customer treatment and raises questions about compliance with consumer protection standards. It is deeply concerning that a company can continue to debit funds after cancellation and proceed with blacklisting, which has the potential to negatively impact a person’s financial standing and livelihood.

I believe that consumers deserve transparency, fairness, and accountability. I urge relevant authorities and the public to take note of such practices, as they can have severe consequences for individuals who are simply trying to resolve legitimate issues.
