PERSONAL INFORMATION SHARED OR EITHER SOLD WITHOUT MY CONSENT

I have been a client of Cartrak since 2015 with no problems or issues. The service received from them are excellent, however an incident arose and I would like to have answers/ clarity from them.

In March I received a call from a company called Telematrix Cartrack who claimed to have taken over Cartrack. They told me when my tracker was installed, practically had all my details and advised that it has to be replaced with the latest technology. An appointment was set for the new tracker to be installed on the 22nd March.

When the installer arrived at my place I asked shim concerning the take over and he advised that the company had not taken over Cartrack but is an independent company. I told him not to install the device and called their offices immediately to cancel.

I was not happy as I told them they sold a device to me with lies and under false pretenses. The agent very rude advised that the contract would be cancelled, all this took place infront of their insatller.

They started debiting my account in April, May as well as well June. I called them in May and told them that I had cancelled with them and they should stop debiting my account. The funny thing is I have not received a debi-check to approve their debit orders.

I am aware that the above has nothing to do with Cartrack, however my concern/ question to Cartrack is " WHERE DID THEY GET MY INFORMATION FROM". I have not given them my account number, which they have and the reference they use when debiting my account is 'BEAME ***6_40'.

I would believe that Cartrack has a mole in their company selling the customers information to the *****ulent company. As per the POPI Act no personal inforation should be shared without consent and I sure as hell have not given anyone the right to share my information.

I would really appreciate a response as to how this people got my account, address, ID Number as well as cellphone number as I never gave any of this to them.

I do believe that this is a *****ulent company as there are may complaints about them on FaceBook as well.
