Misleading Billing, No Resolution, and Unfair Legal Escalation – Cartrack

I am formally lodging a complaint against Cartrack due to misleading billing practices, lack of transparency, and failure to resolve a dispute before escalating the matter to attorneys. When I requested the addition of a dashcam to my existing contract, I specifically asked whether this would be included in my current monthly installment. During the sales call, I was clearly advised that my total monthly payment would be R249 and that no upfront payment was required. Shortly thereafter, I was unexpectedly billed an installment fee, which I paid in good faith. However, I was then charged over R500, which is significantly higher than what was communicated to me. It has since become apparent that I am being billed for what appears to be a duplicate subscription, which I never agreed to. I immediately raised this concern with Cartrack’s customer service team. I was advised that the matter would be investigated and that I would receive feedback. To date, I have received no resolution, no explanation, and no follow-up communication. Despite this unresolved dispute, I have now been handed over to attorneys and received a letter of demand for payment. This is unacceptable, as the matter was never properly addressed or resolved internally. I have requested: A copy of the signed contract Call recordings of all relevant sales and service interactions A full breakdown of the charges app**** None of these have been provided. I have WhatsApp and communication records clearly showing that I disputed these charges and did not agree to any additional subscription beyond what was originally communicated. At this stage, I am requesting: Immediate investigation into the billing discrepancy Removal of any incorrect or duplicate charges Suspension of legal action until the dispute is resolved Full disclosure of all agreements, call recordings, and billing structure If this matter is not resolved urgently, I will escalate it further to the National Consumer Commission. This situation reflects a serious failure in transparent communication and fair customer treatment. I trust this will be addressed as a matter of urgency.
