Installation gone wrong
On 13 May 2024 I started liaising with Nisha Mabika from Cartrack regarding their service options. Then on 15 May I informed her which option I preferred and I informed that I wanted one car to be fitted the same day and she assured me that I would get a call from a technician same day to go at the dealer and fit the unit.
I got numerous calls but no one from their technical department had called me to confirm the time. So I started calling them and the unit was installed the same day. The following day I followed up again with her and she advised she wasnt aware that nothing had been done. She said she will inform the department again. I got calls from Cartrack but none were for from someone to confirm installation and who will be installing, so I decided let me call the PE branch. I was informed that unfortunately the installation would need to be done at their premises and not at the dealer as previously agreed with Nisha. So Friday 24th May I went for the installation which took up 3 hours. I started getting alerts that there was power outage or it was lower I must check and I got calls from Cartrack to check if the vehicle was indeed okay. Then I noticed my car from time to time its making a grr sound or a bit slow in terms of power. I informed the dealer and was asked by the dealer to advise CarTrack to find an alternative source of power for the unit .The 2nd vehicle was installed on 31 May and I was assured that it wont take up 3 hours to do the installation but it did. On 1 June 2024, my Etios the one installation was done last didn't wont to start, it was jump started a couple of times with no success and I was advised that the battery was flat. So I bought a new battery but the problem is still there. So I called Cartrack and advised about the challenge I was facing with both my cars after they had installed the trackers. I also email on 1 June and told her what had happened to the Etios she didnt respond to my email. My query is being handled Chris in the PE branch , I told him what was happening on both cars he checked the Etios and advised that it might be that the first owner of the car didn't remove the unit when being sold and his system shows that Cartrack did fit a unit on the car, he also mentioned that Cartrack cannot be held liable for the challenges I am facing on my cars after they had installed the tracker on my cars. He came around to check my 2nd car but couldnt because of space issues, then he advised me he cannot check my Etios until it can rav. So the question is who will bear the cost to fix the car now to make sure its raving back to where it was before the cartrack installation?

Whilst you’re investigating kindly note that it’s not just an inconvenience but I had unplanned expenses due to that. My car is standing unable to use it.
