Impossible to contact, and no update when battery was removed
I typically hate resorting to the all-caps type of complaint email, but my current struggles have left me with no alternative.
My wife's vehicle (Suzuki Alto, registration ****** GP) had it's battery drained by the Cartrack tracking device during lockdown. We phoned on the 26th of May to cancel her service, and this was actioned for the next monthly cycle. She was promised a call to schedule removal of the device.
Come the 25th of June, we had installed a Tracker system, and called again to schedule the removal. After 2 dropped calls, we finally got through to someone who promised a follow up call for removal. Surprise surprise, we're here nearly a month later, and we've still had no call.
Today, I've had two dropped calls already after 20 minutes on the phone, and no assistance yet. I'm typing this while I wait on call 3... (Update, it dropped when I was meant to be transferred, after holding for 15 minutes).
What has disappointed me most in this experience, is not being ignored for nearly 2 full months, or having spent nearly an hour on fruitless phone calls, but rather that when we phoned the first time on the 26th of May, it wasn't until we asked to be told the location of the car, that Cartrack informed us there was any issue with the tracking unit. This with the battery of the vehicle in our hands. The centre was unable to tell us when the disconnect happened, or where the vehicle was. We needed to prompt them for this info.
Our third call attempt has just dropped. My only remaining course of action is to post this message to HelloPeter, Facebook, and every other avenue available to me, until I receive a call back. Failing this by Friday, I will be parking the car in the entrance of Cartrack Menlyn, until the device is removed from the vehicle.
I hate having to do these steps, but it is impossible to have Cartrack assist me any other way, and Tracker will receive all my business from here onwards.
We note your concern. Please accept our apology for the inconvenience. We will investigate and are confident that this matter will be resolved.
Kind regards
The Cartrack Team
