Extremely disappointed Cartrack client

I am disgusted by the customer service rendered by your company. Unfortunately, it was not the first time raising a similar issue with Cartrack. Today, as I was about to leave home for a meeting, the car would not start. Like I said early, this is a repeat encounter in which the device drained the battery completely. I know, at this point you think how is this your company’s problem? For two reasons, it is. First, the installed device has episodes of draining the battery out. The second it happed I received precisely the same treatment. I called the customer services department selected the emergency option, and that was the start of being sent from pillar to post. Finally, the call was with the technical department. At that time, my airtime had run out when; at least, I had stated the issue. No one came back to me at a “valued client” to check if they cannot send one of their cars to check what is happening or at least jump start/ boost the battery. If it were not for a stranger who came with the boosting cables, I would have missed my meeting. The first time Cartrack kept calling to enquire if there is work done on my car, and I told them numerous time my vehicle is not worked on. They then told me to bring the vehicle for inspection and the replacement of the old device, which I then got to the Pinetown branch. This time around a similar incident happened. The vehicle could not start, call operators not returning the calls when the call is lost, and I have to go through the same process over and over again. This time around, I called my insurance to send one of their operatives to boost the car, and they advised me to remove the Cartrack device, and I am prepared to do and probably get another one.

Secondly, what bothers me the most is that the safety and wellbeing of both myself and the vehicle are less important to Cartrack. If I got stranded in a remote area without airtime, I would have fallen prey to ********* due to your substandard device and customer service. If it were just my 1-year-old daughter and me, I would have to abandon the car and carry her to safety, even when Cartrack is aware of the situation caused by my not own doing. I thought Cartrack values their clients’ safety and wellbeing just as they care enough about the monthly premiums.

In closing, the same battery I had in all these instances got tested at one of the Willard Car Battery centres, where they reassured the battery life is excellent. A Lexus technician did the inspection and found no problem from the side of the car. All automated features are working fine with none of them malfunctioning to drain a battery out. It is the Cartrack devise installed depleting the battery.

With this message, I say thank you for protecting my car this far, and your company’s interest in my money, but it is time to leave Cartrack and to share my own experience with others.

How far is the investigation? Or, it's my money you are after as usual. I am expected to pay R1700 for cancellation caused by rendering poor service. It was not a voluntary cancellation or a breach of contract, but I could not continue rewarding incompetence and substandard service.
